7-12 ENGINE LUBRICATION SYSTEM
Oil Pressure Measurement
Oil Pressure Measurement
•
Remove the oil pressure switch (see Oil Pressure Switch
Removal).
•
Attach the adapter [A] and gauge [B] to the hole.

Install the removed parts (see appropriate chapters).
•
Start the engine and warm up the engine.
•
Run the engine at the specified speed, and read the oil
pressure gauge.

Standard:
196
∼ 490 kPa (2.0 ∼ 5.0 kgf/cm², 28
∼ 71 psi) at 3 000 r/min (rpm), oil
temperature 55
∼ 65°C (131 ∼ 149°F)
•
Stop the engine.
•
Remove the oil pressure gauge and adapter.
WARNING
Hot oil can cause severe burns. Beware of hot en-
gine oil that will drain through the oil passage when
the gauge adapter is removed.

Install the oil pressure switch (see Oil Pressure Switch
Installation).
