Adjusting the treble

When

"TREB" is displayed, press

the

"F" or "G" buttons to vary the

setting.

"TREB -9" for a minimum treble

setting,

"TREB 0" for a standard setting,

"TREB +9" for a maximum treble

setting.

Press the

"K" button.

Selecting radio mode

RADIO

Notes on radio reception

Your radio will be subject to phenom-

ena which do not affect domestic

radio sets. Both AM and FM recep-

tion are subject to various forms of

interference which are no reﬂection

on the quality of your equipment, but

are due to the nature of the signals

and the way in which they are trans-

mitted.

On MW/LW, interference may be no-

ticed when passing underneath high

voltage power lines, under bridges or

in tunnels.

On FM, interference may be the re-

sult of increasing distance from the

transmitter, deﬂection of the signal by

obstacles (mountains, hills, buildings

etc), or of being in an area which is

not covered by a transmitter.

Adjusting the loudness

This function automatically empha-

sises bass and treble tones when the

volume is low.

Press the

"F" or "G" buttons to

switch this function on or off.

Adjusting the front/rear sound

distribution (Fader)

When

"FAD" is displayed, press the

"F" or "G" buttons to vary the set-

ting.

The

"F" button increases the volume

at the front.

The

"G" button increases the volume

at the rear.

Adjusting the right/left sound

distribution (Balance)

When

"BAL" is displayed, press the

"F" or "G" buttons to vary the set-

ting.

The

"F" button increases the volume

on the right-hand side.

The

"G" button increases the volume

on the left-hand side.

Selecting a waveband

Short presses on the

"K" button se-

lects the FM1, FM2, FM3 and AM

wavebands.

Automatic station search

Press the

"MAN" but-

the direction selected, you will obtain

continuous scrolling of the frequency.

Manual station search

Manual storing of stations in the

memory

Select the station required.

Press one of the buttons

"1" to "6"

for more than two seconds.

The sound stops, then becomes au-

dible again, conﬁrming that the sta-

tion has been stored in the memory.

Press button

"K" for

more than two seconds,

to automatically store

the 6 stations with the

strongest signal in FM.

These stations are stored in the FM3

waveband.

- If it is not possible to ﬁnd 6 stations,

the remaining memories are empty.

"J" to search for the

above or below.

Recalling stations stored in the

For each waveband, brieﬂy pressing

the buttons

"1" to "6" recalls the cor-

responding station.

By continuing to press

the button in the direc-

tion selected, you will

obtain continuous scroll-

ing of the frequency.

The scrolling stops on the ﬁrst sta-

tion found as soon as the button is

released.

If the TA trafﬁc information pro-

gramme is selected, only stations

broadcasting this type of programme

are selected.

Searching for a station occurs ﬁrst in

"LO" sensitivity (selection of the most

powerful transmitters) during scan-

ning of the waveband, then in

"DX"

sensitivity (selection of the weakest

and most distant transmitters).

To scan the waveband in

"DX" sensi-

tivity, press button

"H" or "J" twice.

RDS makes it possible

to listen to the same

station

continuously,

whatever frequency it is

using for the region you

are going through.

Switch the function on or off by brieﬂy

pressing the

"RDS" button.

RDS FUNCTION

Using the RDS (Radio Data

System) function on FM

Note: the volume of trafﬁc informa-

tion is independent of the volume

of normal radio listening. You can

adjust it using the volume button.

The setting will be stored and will

be used when the next messages

are broadcast.

While trafﬁc information is being

broadcast, the display will alternately

show

"TRAFFIC" and the name of

the station broadcasting the informa-

tion.

When the station selected cannot

broadcast trafﬁc information, the dis-

play shows

"NO TA" .

Regional following mode (REG)

When they are part of a network, cer-

tain stations broadcast regional pro-

grammes in the various areas they

serve.

With regional following mode you

can keep listening to the same pro-

gramme.

To do this, press the

"RDS" button

for more than two seconds to switch

the

REG function on or off.

PTY function

This enables stations which broad-

cast a themed type of programme

(News, Culture, Sport, Rock etc.) to

be listened to.

With FM selected, press

the

"TA" button for

more than two seconds

to switch this function

on or off.

"H" or "J" to scroll

down the list of the

various types of pro-

grammes offered,

- when the programme of your choice

is displayed, keep button

PTY mode the types of programmes

can be stored in the memory. To do

this, press and hold the preselection

buttons

"1" to "6" for more than two

seconds. To recall the type of pro-

gramme stored in the memory, brieﬂy

press the corresponding button.

RDS station following

The display indicates the name of the

station selected. The set continually

searches for the transmitter with the

best reception which is broadcasting

the same programme.

Press the

"TA" button

to switch the function on

or off.

Any trafﬁc information

ﬂash will be broadcast

as a priority, whatever source you

are listening to (radio, CD or CD

changer).

If you wish to interrupt a message,

press the

"TA" button; this switches

off the function.

Trafﬁc information programme

To search for a PTY programme:

To insert a disc into the changer:

- open sliding panel

cartridge

- open one of the six compartments

of the cartridge by pulling tab

insert the disc into the cartridge,

with the printed face upwards,

and close the compartment,

- insert the cartridge into the chang-

er, observing the direction of the ar-

row,

- close the sliding panel

VENTILATION

1. Windscreen de-icing or

demisting vents.

2. Front window de-icing or

demisting vents.

3. Side vents.

4. Centre vents.

5. Air outlets to front footwells.

Advice on operation

Select the air distribution most suited

to your requirements and the climatic

conditions.

Gradually adjust the temperature

setting for your comfort.

Position the air control in the ''Out-

side Air'' position.

For perfectly even air distribution,

take care not to obstruct the exterior

air intake grille and the vents. Check

that the passenger compartment ﬁl-

ter is in good condition.

When the engine is cold, to prevent

too great a distribution of cold air, the

ventilation will only reach its optimum

level progressively.

To be effective, the air conditioning

(

A/C button), should only be used

with the windows closed.

If, when the vehicle has been parked

in the sun for a prolonged period, the

interior temperature remains very

high, do not hesitate to ventilate the

passenger compartment for a few

minutes.

De-icing the rear door screen

and/or mirrors

With the engine running, pressing

the control de-ices the rear screen

and/or mirrors.

It switches off automatically after ap-

proximately twelve minutes.

Pressing the control again switch-

es the de-icing system on again for

twelve minutes.

It is possible to switch off the de-ic-

ing by pressing the control before the

twelve minutes have elapsed.

- switch on the air conditioning by

Recirculation of the inside air permits

isolation of the passenger compartment

from external odours and smoke.

Used simultaneously with the air con-

ditioning, the recirculation permits

improvement of the air conditioning

performance at cold settings.

When used in a humid climate, the

recirculation presents risks of misting

of the windows.

"Exterior air intake" position.

As soon as possible, place the con-

trol

4 in this position to avoid the risk

of misting of the windows and dete-

rioration of the air quality.

5. Air conditioning control

The air conditioning is designed to

operate in all seasons. In summer, it

enables the temperature to be low-

ered and in winter, above 0 °C, it in-

creases the effectiveness of the de-

misting.

Press the switch

5, the indi-

cator light comes on.

The air conditioning does not

operate while the air ﬂow adjustment

control 1 is in the minimum position.

Note: when stationary, it is quite nor-

mal to notice a slight accumulation

of water under the vehicle as the air

conditioning system discharges its

condensation drop by drop.

Important precaution

Operate the air conditioning system

for 5 to 10 minutes, once or twice a

month, to keep it in perfect working

order.

If the system does not produce

cold air, do not use it and contact a

PEUGEOT dealer.

Note: to optimise the operation of

the air conditioning, leave the vents

open.

Additional heating

Vehicles which are ﬁtted with an HDI

engine may be equipped with auto-

matic additional heating to improve

your comfort.

When the engine is idling or when the

vehicle is stationary, a high-pitched

whistling noise and the emission of

a small amount of smoke and odour

is normal.

FRONT SEATS

Driver and passenger

(single) seats

1 - Forwards-backwards

adjustment

Lift the control and slide the seat for-

wards or backwards.

2 - Driver's seat height

adjustment

Pull the control upwards. Take your

weight off the seat to raise or push on

the seat to lower.

3 - Seat back angle adjustment

Push the control towards the rear to

obtain the correct seat back angle.

4 - Head restraint height

adjustment

To raise or lower the head restraint,

pull it forwards, sliding it at the same

time.

The adjustment is correct when

the upper edge of the head re-

straint is level with the top of the

head.

To remove the head restraint, place it

in the top position, push the lug and

pull it upwards.

To put it back in position, locate the

stems of the head restraint in the

holes, taking care to keep them in

line with the seat back.

Never drive with the head

restraints removed; they

must be in place and ad-

justed correctly.

5 - Adjustable armrest

To place the armrest in its rest

position:

- raise it until it is in line with the seat

back.

To place the armrest in a position

ready for use:

- fold it down fully,

- raise it slowly to the required posi-

tion,

- if the position required is passed,

repeat the operations above.

Heated seat controls

Press the corresponding control but-

ton. The temperature is regulated

automatically.

Pressing the button again switches

the seat heating off.

FRONT BENCH SEAT

The two-seat passenger bench seat

is ﬁxed.

On a vehicle ﬁtted with a partition, it

is supplied in the forward position.

On a vehicle which is not ﬁtted with a

partition, it is supplied in the rearward

position.

You can have it installed in

the forward position by a PEUGEOT

dealer.

The adjustment is correct when

the upper edge of the head re-

straint is level with the top of the

head.

To remove the head restraint, move

it to the upper position, push the tab

and pull it upwards.

To reﬁt the head restraint, place the

stems in the holes taking care to

keep them in line with the seat back.

B - Folding writing table

When open, this has two can holders

and a document clip.

When locked in the open position,

the clip can hold a diary, a laptop...

C - Storage basket

Never drive with the head

restraints removed; they

must be in place and cor-

rectly adjusted.

A - Height adjustable head

Installation

REAR HEAD RESTRAINTS

The rear head restraints can be re-

moved and have two positions:

- high, position for use

- low, storage position

To raise or lower a head restraint,

pull it forwards sliding it at the same

time.

To remove it, place it in the high posi-

tion, push the lug and pull it forwards

and upwards.

To reﬁt it, engage the head restraint

rods in the holes taking care to re-

main in the centreline of the seat

back.

The bench seat removal and installation operations must be carried out by two

people.
