REAR SIDE DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE REPLACEMENT (CREW CAB)

Front Side Door Inside Handle Seal 

Procedure 

1. Rotate the front side door inside release handle to full open position.  

2. Use a small pair of 45 degree needle nose pliers to remove the foam seal at 

the handle to expose retaining clip.  

3. Use a small pair of 45 degree needle nose pliers to release the clip inside 

the handle.  

4. Remove the pin after the clip is released.

Preliminary Procedures 

1. Position the door window as needed for service.  

2. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement 

(YE9) or Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (SLT) .  

3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector

Replacement .

Rear Outside Door Handle Bolt (Qty: 2) 

 
Tip: 

1. Release the outside handle rod from the lock retainer clip.  

2. Release the lock cylinder rod from the door lock.  

3. Remove the outside door handle with the rod attached.  

Tighten: 7 N.m (62 lb in) 

NOTE:

Refer to Fastener Notice .

Rear Side Door Outside Handle 
Tip: Transfer the handle rod to the new handle.

ENDGATE LATCH REPLACEMENT

1. Position the door window as needed for service.  

2. Remove the rear side door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Access Door Trim Panel 

Replacement .

Rear Side Door Latch Control Handle Screw (Qty: 2) 

Tighten: 5 N.m (44 lb in) 

NOTE:

Refer to Fastener Notice .

Rear Side Door Latch Control Handle Upper Cable 
Tip: Release the cable end from the latch retainer before pull the handle all 
way out.

Rear Side Door Latch Control Handle Lower Cable 
Tip: Release the cable end from the latch retainer before pull the handle all 
way out.

Rear Side Door Latch Control Handle 
Tip: Release the cable end from the inside handle retainer.
