FRONT SIDE DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE REPLACEMENT

1. Rotate the front side door Inside release handle to full open position.  

2. Use a small pair of 45 degree needle nose pliers to remove the foam seal at 

the handle to expose the retaining clip.  

3. Use a small pair of 45 degree needle nose pliers to release the clip inside 

the handle.  

4. Remove the pin after the clip is released.

Preliminary Procedures 

1. Position the door window as needed for service.  

2. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel 

Replacement (YE9) or Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (SLT) .

REAR SIDE DOOR INSIDE HANDLE REPLACEMENT (WITH SLT) 

3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector 

Replacement .

Front Side Door Lock Rod Retaining Clip 
Tip: 

1. Remove the rubber grommet to access the bolts.  

2. Plug in the window switch and raise the window.  

3. Release the handle lock rod from the door lock.  

4. Release the door handle lock cylinder rod.

Front Side Door Outside Handle Lock Rod

Front Side Door Outside Handle Bolt (Qty: 2) 

Tighten: 9 N.m (80 lb in) 

NOTE:

Refer to Fastener Notice .

Front Side Door Outside Handle 
Tip: Transfer the handle lock rod to the new handle.

1. Remove door window control switch. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Switch 

Replacement (Crew Cab) or Rear Side Door Window Switch Replacement 
(Extended Cab) .  

2. Remove door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (YE9) 

or Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (SLT) .

Rear Side Door Inside Handle Bolt (Qty: 2) 

Tighten: 2 N.m (18 lb in) 

NOTE:

Refer to Fastener Notice .
