four (4) mounting plates of the damper. Lift
the engine and main pump assembly.

8.9.2 Installation

●

Installation is performed in the reverse procedure of removal.

●

Open the radiator tank cap to re

ll coolant. Add coolant to the coolant tank.

Engine coolant:Approx. 26 L

●

ll the hydraulic tank with hydraulic oil.

Hydraulic tank: Approx. 380 L

●

Start the engine to circulate the coolant in order release the foams, and check the coolant
level again.

●

Start the engine to circulate the hydraulic oil in the hydraulic system, and check the oil level
again.

●

Purging the air.

8.10 Final Drive AS

8.10.1 Removal

1. Remove the sprocket. See

“Sprocket” on

page 8-58.

2. Remove the motor cover plate (1).

3. Disconnect the four hoses (2) of the travel

motor and the corresponding hose connec-
tors.

4. Remove the 24 mounting bolts (3) con-

necting the final drive assembly with the
sprocket. And the remove the sprocket.

5. Remove the bolts (4) connecting the final

drive with the track frame. Lift the final
drive (5) in order to disassemble it.

●

Take care not to damage the surface
of mounting seal installed on the hose
base.

●

Never use the threaded holes to lift the
cover when lifting the

nal drive.

●

Lower the work equipment to the
ground in order to ensure safety. Stop
the engine. Operate the breather valve
to release internal pressure.

8.11.1 Disassembly

1. Discharging the oil

Open the drain plug to discharge oil from
the

nal drive tank.

Final drive tank: About 4.0 L

2. Cover

Unscrew the mounting bolts. Remove the
cover (1) with the help of eyebolts

3. Spacer

Remove the spacer (2).

4. No. 1 planetary carrier assembly

A. Remove No.1 planetary carrier assem-

bly (3).

B. Disassembling No.1 planetary carrier

assembly.

a. Remove the screw (4). Remove the

coverplate (5) from the planetary
carrier (6).

b. Remove the thrust washer (7), gear

(8), bearing (9), bearing inner race
(10) and thrust washer (11).

5. No.1 sun gear shaft

Remove No.1 sun gear shaft (12).

6. Thrust washer.

Remove the thrust washer (13).

7. No.2 sun gear

Remove No.2 sun gear (14).

8. Disassembling No.2 planetary carrier as-

sembly

A. Remove the screw (15). Remove the

plate (16) and the planetary gear (17)
from the carrier (22).

B. Remove the bearing inner race (19)

and outer race (18). Remove the plate
(20).

C. Remove the screw (21) in order to take

down the planetary carrier (22) and
shims (23) from the body.

9. Boss assembly

A. Remove the boss assembly (24) from

the travel motor with the help eyebolts

B. Disassemble the boss assembly as the

following.

a. Remove the

oating seal (25).

b. Remove the bearings (26) and (27)

from the boss (28).

●

Take care not to damage the bear-
ing retainer while disassembling the
bearing (26).

C. Remove the

oating seal (29) from the

travel motor (30).

8.11.2 Assembly

●

Clean all the parts. Make sure that these
parts are free from contamination or dam-
age. Apply some engine oil to the sliding
surfaces prior to installation.

1. Boss assembly

A. Install the bearings (26) and (27) by

pressing them onto the boss (28).

B. Install the

oating seals (25).

●

Remove any oil or dust from the O-ring
or O-ring contact surfaces. Dry the
parts before installing the

oating seals.

●

After installing the floating seal, make
sure that the angle of floating seal is
within 1 mm.

●

Apply a thin layer of engine oil to the
sliding surface after the floating seal
has been installed.

D. Place the boss assembly (24) on the

travel motor with the help of eyebolts

. Carefully tap the bearing to press-

t it.

C. Install the floating seal (29) on the

travel motor (30).

2. Calculation of shim thickness

A. Measure the thickness (H) of the raised

part of No.2 planetary carrier (22).

B. Measurement of raised thickness

Apply 3000 Kg load to the bearing and
measure the value (H) of the raised
part of bearing.

●

Turn the boss 2-3 times before applying
a pushing force.

●

Do not use a spray gun to cushion the
bearing.

●

Do not push or strike the retaining
valve.

C. Shim thickness calculation: C=H-h.

D. Place the shims on the body and insert

the dowel pin. Press the carrier as-
sembly onto the dowel pin and tighten it
with screw (21). Apply locking adhesive
to the threads.

Screw-locking adhesive:

(Kesaixin 1277)

●

Use a tensiometer to measure the tan-
gential force of boss to motor case ro-
tation.

Tangential force: Max. 294N {30 kg}

Maximum tangential force occurs at the
beginning of direction change.

3. Assembly of No.2 planetary carrier assem-

bly

Assemble the No.2 planetary carrier as-
sembly through to the following steps.

●

Replace the plates (20) and (16) with
new ones.

A. Assemble the bearings (18) and (19)

on the gear (17). Assemble the top and
bottom plates (16) and (20), and place
the gear assembly into the planetary
carrier (22).

B. Lock it with screw (15).

●

Check the flexibility of gear (17) after
assembling the planetary carrier as-
sembly.

4. Thrust washer

Install the thrust washer (13).

5. No.2 sun gear

Install No.2 sun gear (14).

Install No.1 sun gear shaft (12).

7. No.1 planetary carrier assembly

A. Install No.1 planetary carrier assembly

as the following.

●

Replace the thrust washers (7) and (11)
with new ones.

a. Assemble bearings (9,10) on gear

(8). Assemble the top washer (7)
and the bottom washer (11). Place
the gear assembly in the carrier
assembly (6).

b. Secure the coverplate (5) to the

planetary carrier (6) with screw (4).

B. Install No.1 planetary carrier assembly

(3).

8. Spacer

Install the spacer (2).

9. Cover

Assemble the cover (1) with the help of
eyebolts

8.12 Swing Motor and Swing Drive AS

8.12.1 Removal

Release the remaining pressure in the hydrau-
lic return circuit. See

“Remaining Pressure

in Hydraulic Lines - Relieve” on page 6-36

Lower the work equipment to the ground in
order to ensure safety. Stop the engine. Press
the release button of the breather valve to
release remaining pressure in the hydraulic
tank. Place the hydraulic lockout control in the
locked position.

1. Disconnect the hose (1) through the hose

(9).

(1): Between oil tank and swing motor (port

Dr)

(2): Between central swivel joint and swing

motor (port Dr)

(3): Between swing motor and main valve

(port M)

(4): Between swing motor and main valve

port Px (port A)

(5): Between swing motor and main valve

(port B)

(6): Between swing motor and main valve

port Px (port SH)

(7): Between swing motor and solenoid

valve block (port PG)

2. Remove the 14

xing bolts (8).

3. Lift the swing motor and swing mechanism

assembly (9) in order to disassemble it.

Slowly lift the swing motor and swing
mechanism assembly in order to avoid
damaging the hoses and other parts.

Swing motor and swing drive AS:

425.5 kg

8.13 Swing Motor and Swing Drive AS

8.13.1 Disassembly

1. Draining of oil

Open the drain plug to drain the oil from
the swing mechanism.

Swing drive case: Approx. 10.5 L

2. Swing motor assembly

A. Place the swing motor and swing

mechanism assembly on a suitable
cribbing. Take care not to damage the
drive gear or let it contact the ground.

B. Unscrew the four(4) bolts (1) in order to

remove the swing motor assembly (2).

Swing motor assembly: 67.5 kg

3. No.1 sun gear

Remove No.1 sun gear (2).
