Forward/Reverse lever
NB! When starting the machine, the lever must be in neutral.
The engine cannot be started if the forward/reverse lever is in
any other position.
The forward/reverse lever controls both the roller's driving
direction and speed. When the lever is moved forward, the
roller moves forward; when the lever is move backward, the
roller moves backward.
The roller's speed is proportional to the distance the lever is
from the neutral position. The further the lever is from the
neutral position, the higher the speed.
3
Offset left/right
The left button turns the front drum to the left, the right button
to the right.
Always stop in neutral, to move to the other side press once
again.
On machines with electronic steering (reversible drivers seat)
automatically centering of the front drum could be achieved by
pressing both offset buttons at the same time.
4
Vibration on/off
First push will start vibrations, second push will stop
vibrations.

Activates the two different gear positions: (1), (2). The current
gear position is shown in the display by means of the
following figures.
Position 1: Normal working gear, gives maximum hill-climbing
capacity during vibratory compaction
Position 2: Used for maximum transport speed or for high
speed during smooth rolling without vibration
30
Edge press/cutter, UP/DOWN
The edge cutter can be moved up and down when the
machine is in Work mode. The edge cutter can only be moved
up when the machine is in Transport mode.
Pressing on the bottom button moves the edge cutter down.
Pressing on the top button moves the edge cutter up.

Asphalt temperature meter
Asphalt temperatures are shown either in Celsius or
Fahrenheit. (selected in User settings)
Fig. Asphalt temperature screen
Dual temperature sensors, one front and one rear.
The sensor that sits foremost in the current direction of
travel is highlighted and it is this one that is read to
avoid the disruption of moisture from the drum’s
sprinklers. The sensor that is rearmost in the current
direction of travel is shaded/dimmed.
Setting of max. and min values by plus or minus on
the display image, the temperature area will be green
if the temperature keeps within the desired values and
turns yellow if the temperature is higher than the

maximum value.
Fig. Temperature settings
Impactometer (strokes per meter)
The Impactometer shows how many strokes per meter
the drum performs during vibration, the set minimum
value is shown by a blue arrow on the meter image.
The green area in the image shows our basic
recommendation for the speed interval.
Fig. Impactometer screen
Setting of the minimum value by plus or minus on the
display image.
The Impactometer value is calculated based on the
operating speed and the vibration frequency. A higher
operating speed gives fewer strokes per meter.
The recommendation is to not fall below 33
strokes/meter (10 impacts/feet) to avoid wave
formation on the road surface.
Min
The choice of high or low amplitude also impacts on
the compaction result and should be taken into
consideration.

Evib compaction meter (DCM Evib)
Compaction meter measures compaction value Evib i
MN / m2
Evib acceleration sensor on the front drum.
Fig. Compaction meter (DCM) with Evib
Min and max values of the Evib value (Evib 1 or Evib
2) on the relevant compaction meter can be adjusted
by the plus and minus buttons on the various scales.
Evib 1 is calculated during the load cycle (when the
drum is on the way down) during vibration, while Evib
2 is calculated during the load-relief cycle (when the
drum is on the way up). It is up to the user to decide
which value to use.
Selection
Min-Max
The best way of determining an Evib measurement
value is to run a test surface with the same
characteristics (substrate, material, temperature,
Fig. Evib settings
amplitude and rolling speed, etc.) as the surface to be
compacted and measured.
Compact the surface within the temperature interval
for the asphalt in question, and note the Evib values
for each run. The values should go up slightly with
each run, with increased compaction, and falling
temperature. The value read off for the final run, when
the correct void content/compaction rate is reached,
can then be used as guidance for the minimum or
measured value
However, this must be viewed as indicative only. The
maximum value is set rather higher and should not be
exceeded. High values will occur in the case of low
asphalt temperatures and high compaction levels.
Further vibrating compaction in these cases risks
crushing the stone aggregate, something which should
be avoided.
Always keep track on the asphalt temperature and
relate it to the compaction value. The Evib value will
change not only with the degree of compaction but
also with the asphalt temperature.

In the event of continued driving without rectifying with
better Urea quality the Urea quality symbol flashes together
with the icon for reduced power and the “Yellow warning”
lights on the panel.
The operator should drain and refill the Urea tank with new
Urea. If the Urea tank is not refilled, engine power is
reduced and normal power is restored once the Urea has
been refilled.
4
In the event of continued driving without rectifying with
better Urea quality the Urea quality symbol flashes together
with the icon for reduced power and the “Yellow warning”
lights on the panel.
The operator should drain and refill the Urea tank with new
Urea. If the Urea tank is not refilled, engine power is further
reduced and normal power is restored once the Urea has
been refilled.
