REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER ON SIGNAL

Turns the indicator lamp in the rear window defogger switch ON when operating the rear window defogger.

WITHOUT AUTO A/C : Component Function Check

CHECK REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER ON SIGNAL

Check that the indicator lamps of rear window defogger switch are illuminated when turning the rear window
defogger switch ON.

Is the inspection result normal?

OK

>> Rear window defogger ON signal is OK.

NG

>> Refer to 

DEF-23, "WITH AUTO A/C : Diagnosis Procedure"

WITHOUT AUTO A/C : Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER ON SIGNAL

1.

Turn ignition switch ON.

2.

Check voltage between heater control panel connector ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 3.

NO

>> GO TO 2.

2.

CHECK HARNESS CONTINUITY

1.

Turn ignition switch OFF.

2.

Disconnect IPDM E/R and heater control panel connector.

3.

Check continuity between IPDM E/R connector and heater control panel connector.

4.

Check continuity between BCM connector and ground

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> Refer to 

GI-39, "Intermittent Incident"

.

NO

>> Repair or replace harness between IPDM E/R and heater control panel.

3.

CHECK IINTERMITTENT INCDENT

Check intermittent incident.
Refer to 

GI-39, "Intermittent Incident"

.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> Replace heater control panel. Refer to 

VTL-72, "Removal and Installation"

.

NO

>> Repair or replace the malfunctioning parts.
