6 . Check and top up the engine oil. 

 

 

7 . Run the engine. 

 

 

8 . Check and if necessary top up the engine oil.

Removal  

 

1 . Remove the oil filler cap.  

 

 

 

2 . Remove the engine cover.  

 

 

 

3 . Install the engine oil filler cap to prevent foreign material entering the valve cover.

4 . Install the engine lifting bracket.  

 

 

 

5 . Install the engine support bracket.  

 

 

 

6 . Remove the air deflector.  

For additional information, refer to Air Deflector (76.11.41)  

 

 

7 . Drain the engine oil.  

  

 

Place suitable container under the vehicle.

 

  

 

Remove the drain plug and drain the engine oil.

Make sure the alignment mark on the steering gear pinion seal protection cover is central to 

the steering gear pinion casting.  

 

 

 

9 . Disconnect the power steering control valve actuator electrical connector. 

 

 

 

10 . Detach the lower steering column.  

  

 

Remove the steering gear shaft pinch bolt.

 

 

 

 

 

11 . Detach the steering gear.  

  

 

Remove the steering gear retaining bolts.
