HIGH MOUNT STOP LAMP REPLACEMENT (REGULAR CAB)

Component Name

Preliminary Procedure 

1. Reach inside the rear fender and wheelhouse in order to disconnect the electrical 

connector for the rear fender lamp from the main chassis harness.  

2. Disengage the retainer securing the connector to the pick up box panel brace.  

3. From inside the wheelhouse push inward on the locking tab for the lamp assembly and 

push the lamp outward from the fender.  

4. Remove the lamp and electrical harness.

BACKUP LAMP BULB REPLACEMENT (GMC)

Preliminary Procedure:  
Remove the high mounted stop lamp cover assembly. Refer to High Mount Stop Lamp 
Replacement (Regular Cab) or High Mount Stop Lamp Replacement (Extended and 
Crew Cab).

High Mounted Stop and Cargo Lamp Opening Cover Screw (Qty: 2) 

Tighten: 2.5 N.m (22 lb in)

Cargo Lamp Bulb (Qty: 2) 
Tip: Rotate the bulb sockets a quarter turn counter-clockwise to unlock in 
order to remove the bulbs from the bulb sockets.

Brake Lamp Bulb (Qty: 2) 
Tip: Rotate the bulb sockets a quarter turn counter-clockwise to unlock in 
order to remove the bulbs from the bulb sockets.
