Remove/install insulation element of rear-end door

Remove

Remove inside door opener

on right rear-end door only

Expose bolts (3) of insulating
element (2)

 Remove sealing compound

on bolt heads.

Separate edge sealing between
insulation element (2) and rear-
end door (1) all-round

Separate insulation element from
rear-end door

 Do not damage insulation

foam on rear of insulation
element. Carefully cut through
adhesive points (4 in area of
lower bolt holes and 4 at top of
outer door contact surface).

Remove residue adhesive on

 

 

rear door and on insulation
element

Install

On the rear of the insulation
element in the area of the outer
door contact surface apply at 8
points walnut-sized dots of
sealing compound (arrows)

 The sealing compound dots

serve as adhesive points. Apply
sealing compound dots at the
lower end of the insulation
element in area of the 4 bolt
holes.

Apply insulation element (2) to
rear-end door (1) and tighten

 When fitting the insulation

element on the right-hand rear
door route the door lock linkage
outwards.

Cover up bolt heads using
sealing compound

Apply sealing compound to gap
between insulation element and
rear door all round

Install inside door opener

on right rear-end door only
