57. Remove D-rings from reverse brake piston.

58. Knock out retaining pin using suitable tool.

59. Remove instruction shaft retaining pin using suitable tool.

60. Remove instruction plate (with parking rod) from instruction shaft.

61. Remove parking rod from instruction plate.

62. Remove instruction shaft from transmission case.

63. Remove instruction shaft oil seals using suitable tool.

CAUTION:

Do not scratch transmission case.

64. Remove detent spring and spacer from transmission case.

65. Remove snap ring from transmission case using suitable tool.

66. Remove servo assembly (with return spring) from transmission

case.

68. Remove O-rings from servo assembly.

69. Remove needle bearing (1) from rear extension (2WD models)

or adapter case (4WD models).

70. Remove parking actuator support from rear extension (2WD

models) or adapter case (4WD models).

71. Remove parking pawl (with return spring) and pawl shaft from

rear extension (2WD models) or adapter case (4WD models).

ASSEMBLY

1. Install O-ring to oil pump cover.

CAUTION:

• Do not reuse O-ring.

• Apply ATF to O-ring.

2. Install O-ring to oil pump housing.

OIL PUMP

3. Install oil pump housing oil seal to the oil pump housing until it is

flush using Tool.

CAUTION:

• Do not reuse oil seal.

• Apply ATF to oil seal.

4. After temporarily tightening the bolts for the oil pump housing to

the oil pump cover, tighten them to the specified torque in the

sequence shown.
