Removal & Installation (Adjustable Pedals) 

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.  

2. Remove the instrument panel opening cover. See Fig. 62 .  

3. Remove the nuts and the steering column support bracket. See Fig. 38 .  

4. Remove the stoplight switch hairpin clip. See Fig. 30 .  

5. Slide the stoplight switch, booster push rod and the bushing off the brake pedal pin. See Fig. 31 .  

6. Remove the brake pedal-to-accelerator pedal cable from the accelerator pedal by pulling on the cable 

retainer. See Fig. 39 .  

7. Disconnect the brake pedal motor harness connector. See Fig. 40 .  

8. Disconnect the transmission shift cable from the steering column shift lever. See Fig. 41 .  

9. Remove the bulkhead sound insulator. See Fig. 32 .  

10. Remove the brake pedal bracket nuts. See Fig. 32 .  

11. Remove the brake pedal bracket bolts, and remove the brake pedal and bracket. See Fig. 42 and Fig. 43 . 

CAUTION: Ensure the bulkhead sound insulator is not between the brake pedal
