Installation 

Install gaskets and upper intake manifold. Tighten upper intake manifold bolts in sequence to specification. See 
Fig. 4 . See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.

Removal & Installation (4.2L - Intake Manifold Spacer) 

Remove upper intake manifold. See REMOVAL (4.2L - UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD) . Partially drain 
cooling system. Disconnect Throttle Position (TP) sensor. See Fig. 5 . Disconnect brake booster hose, vapor 
management hose and PCV valve hose. Disconnect heater hoses and hose bracket. Remove vacuum connector. 
Disconnect EGR vacuum regulator valve harness connector and hose. See Fig. 6 . Remove the 8 bolts and 
intake manifold spacer assembly. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners in sequence to 
specification. See Fig. 7 . See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Bleed cooling system.
