Preliminary Procedure 

Ensure the bearings are installed squarely on the front output shaft.  

Using a suitable adapter and an arbor press, remove the bearing assemblies from the 
front output shaft.

Transfer Case Front Output Shaft Rear Bearing

Tip: Using a suitable adapter and an arbor press, 
install the bearing until the bearing bottoms 
against the spacer.

Transfer Case Front Output Shaft Front Bearing 
Assembly 
Tip: Using a suitable adapter and an arbor press, 
install the bearing until the bearing bottoms on 
the front output shaft.

Transfer Case Front Output Shaft Hole Plug 
Tip: 

Using a suitable adapter and an arbor press, 
remove the front output shaft hole plug by 
going through the front of the front output 
shaft.  

Install the plug using the large side of the 
DT-48212 .  

Press the plug until the tool bottoms on the 
front output shaft.

Using the J 35512 and an arbor press, remove the bearing assemblies from the drive 
sprocket.  

Ensure the bearings are installed squarely into the drive sprocket bore.

Install the bearing using the long side of the 
DT-48211 .

HIGH/LOW SHIFT FORK REPLACEMENT

Ensure the flat edge of the bearing is facing 
upward.  

Using an arbor press or hammer, install the 
bearing until the tool bottoms on the drive 
sprocket.

Tip: 

Install the bearing using the short side of the 
DT-48211 .
