INPUT SHAFT PILOT BEARING REPLACEMENT (HEAVY DUTY AND SUPER HEAVY DUTY)

Preliminary Procedure:  
Ensure the bearing is installed squarely into the input shaft bore.

Transfer Case Input Shaft Pilot Bearing 
Tip: 

Using a suitable adapter and an arbor press, 
remove the input shaft pilot bearing by 
going through the front of the input gear.  

Install the bearing using the small side of the 
DT-48212 . See Special Tools.  

Press the bearing until the tool bottoms on 
the input shaft.

Using a suitable adapter and an arbor press, 
remove the input shaft pilot bearing by 
going through the front of the input shaft.  

Install the bearing using the large side of the 
DT-48212 . See Special Tools.  

Press the bearing until the tool bottoms on 
the input shaft.

FRONT OUTPUT SHAFT REAR BEARING REPLACEMENT

Using a suitable adapter and an arbor press, remove the bearing assembly from the 
front output shaft.

Transfer Case Front Output Shaft Front Bearing

Tip: Using a suitable adapter and an arbor press, 
install the bearing until the bearing bottoms on 
the front output shaft.

Transfer Case Front Output Shaft Hole Plug 
Tip: 

Using a suitable adapter and an arbor press, 
remove the front output shaft hole plug by 
going through the front of the front output 
shaft.  

Install the plug using the large side of the 
DT-48212 . See Special Tools.  

Press the plug until the tool bottoms on the 
front output shaft.
