3. Remove the oil fill plug (1).  

4. Remove the oil drain plug (2).  

5. Remove any old sealant from the transmission housing.

1. Apply a thin bead of sealant GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480), or equivalent 

to the oil drain plug threads.

2. Install the oil drain plug (2). 

Tighten: Tighten the plug to 37 N.m (27 lb ft).

3. Fill the transmission with the proper fluid to just below the bottom of the fill plug hole. 

NOTE:

Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice .

4. Apply a thin bead of sealant GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480), or equivalent 

to the oil fill plug threads.  

5. Install the oil fill plug (1). 

Tighten: Tighten the plug to 37 N.m (27 lb ft). 

6. Lower the vehicle.

Transmission Vent Pipe Bolt 

Tighten:: 11 N.m (97 lb in).
