HOOD BUMPER REPLACEMENT

Preliminary Procedures 

1. Remove the radiator grille. Refer to Radiator Grille Replacement (Chevrolet) or Radiator 

Grille Replacement (GMC) .  

2. Remove the headlamp. Refer to Headlamp Replacement (GMC HD) or Headlamp Replacement 

(Chevrolet) .

Hood Stop Bumper Bracket Bolts (Qty: 3) 

Tighten: 9 N.m (80 lb in) 

NOTE:

Refer to Fastener Notice .

ENDGATE CABLE REPLACEMENT

Hood Bumper (Qty: 2) 
Tip: Install the hood bumper until the hood closes flush with the fender.

HOOD PRIMARY LATCH RELEASE CABLE REPLACEMENT

Preliminary Procedure:  
Remove the endgate latch lower bolt. Refer to Endgate Latch Replacement .

Endgate Cable 
Tip: Release the endgate cable from the endgate cable bolt using a small flat bladed 
screwdriver.

FRONT SIDE DOOR CONDUIT REPLACEMENT

Preliminary Procedures 

1. Remove the hood latch release handle. Refer to Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Handle 

Replacement.  

2. Remove the left headlamp. Refer to Headlamp Replacement (GMC HD) or Headlamp 

Replacement (Chevrolet) .  

3. Remove the hood latch. Refer to Hood Primary and Secondary Latch Replacement.

Hood Latch Release Cable 
Tip: 



Attach mechanics wire to the existing cable to ease the installation of the new cable.  



Use a trim panel removal tool to help disengage the cable from the retaining points 
along the body.
